World Records are updated by World Aquatics in May and November are are available from the World Aquatics website.
New Zealand Masters Swimming maintains official national records for Masters swimmers across a range of age groups and events. Records are recognised for performances achieved in both long course (50 metre) and short course (25 metre) pools and provide a lasting record of achievement within the Masters swimming community.
Masters swimming recognises that excellence can be achieved at any age. Records are maintained in five-year age groups, allowing swimmers to compete against their peers and measure their achievements throughout their swimming journey. Whether a swimmer is setting a personal best, a club record, a national record or even a world record, every achievement contributes to the rich history of Masters swimming in New Zealand.
NZMS is responsible for recording and maintaining national Masters swimming records and ensuring they are accurately updated following approved competitions and performances. Records may be achieved at NZMS-sanctioned events, recognised overseas competitions and other qualifying swims conducted under approved conditions.
