Remembering Our Members

New Zealand Masters Swimming honours the memory of members who have passed away and celebrates the contributions they made to our sport and community. Through their commitment, friendship, volunteer service, and passion for swimming, they helped build the welcoming and inclusive environment that defines Masters swimming today.

Our members come from many backgrounds and generations. However, they share a common love of swimming, fitness, competition, and camaraderie. Some were dedicated competitors, while others served as volunteers, officials, coaches, administrators, or supporters. Each person touched the lives of fellow swimmers in a unique way.

This page provides a place for remembrance and reflection. Here, we share stories that celebrate the lives and achievements of members who enriched New Zealand Masters Swimming. In addition, these tributes recognise the friendships, encouragement, and community spirit that remain at the heart of our organisation.

We extend our sincere condolences to family members, friends, clubmates, and everyone affected by the loss of a fellow swimmer. By sharing these tributes, we honour their legacy and preserve their contribution to Masters swimming for future generations.

Although our members may no longer swim beside us, their achievements, friendships, and spirit remain an enduring part of the New Zealand Masters Swimming family.
